The woman at the center of the Kevin Hart video extortion scandal said Sunday she shot it to “expose” him as a cheating liar, according to a report.
The unnamed woman — whose image was released for the first time by TMZ — admitted she also wanted to “get paid” for the sexually suggestive footage, the celebrity news site reported.
“Kevin Hart was privy to me wanting to expose him as I have made countless attempts to expose this information to various blogs, in an attempt to also get paid,” the woman, who demanded up to $10 million, told the site.
She claimed the 36-year-old “Central intelligence” star, who launched a Hurricane Harvey fundraising effort earlier this month, only did so to get ahead of the brewing video scandal.
“The real reason Kevin Hart orchestrated the Texas Hurricane Relief Fund, this so-called good deed was done to get ahead as he knew this damaging footage was one click away from being exposed as the liar and cheater he is,” the woman told TMZ.
Hart apologized to his pregnant wife and family Saturday after refusing to pay off the woman, who released footage of Hart and a woman getting cozy at a club.
Footage then cuts to an image of an empty bed and the sound of mattress springs creaking and someone getting slapped.
The video, which is just under five minutes long, is highly produced and features audio from Hart’s appearances on radio shows, according to TMZ.
At one point, it cuts to a bedroom scene where two people appear to be having sex on a bed — but it’s unclear who they are. Afterwards, a man who looks like Hart is seen walking through the room.
The FBI knows the identity of the person who extorted the actor, TMZ reported.
Law enforcement sources said the suspect contacted the star’s reps and demanded up to $10 million to keep the footage under wraps, according to TMZ.
Hart posted an apology on Instagram Saturday night, saying,“Sending so many apologies to my wife and kids.”
He added, “I gotta do better and I will. I’m not perfect and I never claimed to be … I love you all. ’’
